Unlike factories, they go door-to-door through surrounding villages, visiting every household to offer work regardless of education or experience.
What makes this revolutionary? They meet women where they are. For mothers caring for children or elderly parents, who can’t leave home to work, the workshop delivers complete materials to their doorstep—fabric, thread, even sewing machines. Women complete kantha embroidery, quilt finishing, and quality checks from their homes while children play nearby.
Other women master block printing and machine stitching at the central workshop. The most skilled even connect directly with clients like me —giving production updates and custom order timelines.
I've spent time with these women and witnessed their transformation firsthand. They start with basic stitching and progress to intricate embroidery and quality control. Most importantly, they gain confidence and independence—taking active roles in family decisions and building better futures for their children.
